El Pez a Colibri Boutique Hotel ★★★★★

This is a hidden gem. Restaurant on site served exceptional food.

Dolphin room was a bit noisy as it was next to the kitchen, but only until the restaurant closed and cleanup was was finished. It was quiet by 10 pm.

The staff at the hotel makes this place even more magical than Tulum already is. By the end of the week everyone knew us and we knew them. Also the food is incredible, the detail behind each meal is like eating a high end restaurant in NYC. I would come back here in a heart beat. Don't miss out on a small trendy, but engaging friendly hotel. ***** 5 STARS

Rooms are beautiful, whole property is relaxing and beachfront, breakfast is included and all the food is delicious but most of all the staff are amazing. They are all a credit to this hotel and make you feel so welcome and so well looking after.

Breakfasts were amazing. Master Beach Suite was spacious and comfortable and literally on the beach. Coffee delivered to your door each morning and tea service in the evening. Incredibly accommodating and professional staff. Very patient and helpful with our small children. 3 and 1.5 years old.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed in El Pez this past September; and so enjoyed our time there. The service was great, even before we got there (receiving notes from the Concierge in advance); and each of them making an effort to get to know us. We particularly enjoyed our breakfasts with Jesus, our coffees from Lucinda and the recommendations and chats with Will, Denisse and the team. Coffee delivered to our door each morning, to be enjoyed on the balcony when waking up; a very comfy bed, and such delicious food are some of the highlights from El Pez. We loved our stay; but doing our own bit of research and recommendations was important to us enjoying our trip.

Tulum is expensive, if staying on the Beach front. In terms of the area, If you want to be going out every night, be mindful that most places aren't walkable in the dark; but very inexpensive taxis are readily available. During the day, rent bikes (available from El Pez) and explore! And be sure to see a Cenote or three! Nothing to do with El Pez, but the seaweed was plentiful and meant swimming at the beach front wasn't quite possible.

Great location, view from the room, powerful air-conditioning, prompt service. This hotel is located at some distance from shops/restaurant which was a plus from our point of view. 10 minutes walk takes you to 2 shop areas.

The lagoon is shallow and it not the best place for swimming... However 10-15 min south along the road there are many "beach clubs" that will give you a beach bed and access to the beach. Brings nice variety to your days...

Love the view of the room. Like the Tea at night and coffee in the morning brought directly to the room.

During breakfast you have to choose 1 starter and 1 main. I wanted to get 2 starters which is cheaper for them. They said no. Not really a 5*. Did not have hot water the first day in the room. No compensation offered. Pool is small but nice, the problem is that it is near an construction area and where they store all the sea weed they removed from the beach so it smells really bad. Also they had kids removed the sea weed all day under the sun which I found a bit unethical and sad. My neightboor offered them some cold Coca Cola, we gave them money for the hard job.

Very comfortable. Great beachfront rooms. Friendly staff.

Not my favorite beach location in Tulum as the bottom of the beach here is rocky. Having to tip for an included breakfast felt like too much. Also, some of the staff were not well trained.

Great service, very comfortable bed and room, nice amenities. Breakfast options are limited but tasty. Location is good, with easy access by car to other beaches and attractions such as the ruins, restaurants or downtown area.

The services are amazing and the food was really good.

Unfortunately the beach was completely covered by algae, so one of the major reasons to select the hotel was gone.

El sargazo acumulado en la playa pública provocaba un mal olor en el hotel, que se sentía desde el restaurante. La playa donde está ubicado no es la mejor de tulum

La vista al mar y el desayuno.

La habitación seashell comparte terraza con otra habitación y no hay mucha privacidad ya que la gente q se hospeda al lado pasa siempre por tu ventana.

La atención del personal excelente, la gente de recepción súper amable y atenta. El desayuno espectacular. El ambiente la decoración y las instalaciones muy bonito.

Las escaleras para subir a la habitación de noche no tenían iluminación quizá ese sea un punto a mejorar.

La cama era muy comoda y la decoraciòn e instalacioens del hotel muy lindas

Era epoca de zargazo y era imposible entrar al mar pero adicional había un punto de acopio de zargazo al lado del hotel y olía muy feo, la mayoría del tiempo fuera de las habitaciones el olor era incomodo

NOS CORTARON EL AGUA SIN AVISAR . ME ESTABA BAÑANDO. LE FALTA MANTENIMIENTO AL HOTEL . JARDINERIA NO CUIDADA.. EN LA ALBERCA NO ESTABAN LOS CAMASTROS ...

The hotel is beautiful place. Only this information! El hotel es bonito pero no hay nada más que añadir.

Fatal! Llegamos y nos encontramos todo lleno de algas y con un olor horrible a huevo podrido. Nos supo mal pero no podíamos hacer nada...o eso creía hasta que me enteré que hacia 4 meses que ya estaba así y el hotel no nos informo de nada. Es un hotel no precisamente barato ya que pagas el servicio y el hecho de tener playa exclusiva para ti. Nosotros elegimos este hotel por el encanto, tranquilidad, su playa...el objetivo era no hacer nada y estar de relax en nuestra luna de miel. Pero no resultó ser de esta forma ya que no informaron de nada, y lo veo mal ya que siendo un 5 * deberían tener todo muy bien controlado. Decidimos irnos al tercer día ya que no se podía estar y nos estábamos dejando un dineral en ir a otras playas ( cuando lo que queríamos era no movernos de hotel), de tal forma que les comentamos que nos devolvieran las dos noches que no utilizamos ya que es lo mínimo que deberían haber hecho ( y no dije todas) pero la respuesta (aparte de que tardaron una eternidad en que nos dijeran algo y finalmente fue vía telefónica desde la habitación, muy cutre) fue denegada inicialmente, después fueron cambiando de opinión poco a poco y paso a ser devolución de la mitad de una noche, después una noche entera y un bono para que volvamos... A todo esto aun espero que venga el gerente a hablar con nosotros.Todo pasando de mano en mano... Resumen: no tienen ninguna mano con los clientes, y delante de estos problemas no son nada resolutivos. Prefieren no informar a los clientes, de tal forma no pierden dinero y si cuela cuela... Pero de esta manera salen perdiendo ellos, porque clientes como yo no vuelven más, lo aseguro. Aparte, las habitaciones son minúsculas y por el precio que tienes deberían ser mas grandes. Aún estamos esperando que nos envíen una solución al respeto y esperemos que sea pronto! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - We arrived and found ourselves full of seaweed and with a horrible rotten egg smell.

Impecable el servicio del personal, sobre todo de Gilbert, un ejemplo de profesional y atención al huésped. Me asesoró correctamente en todo momento, me ayudo con un presente, con una reserva, en resumen facilito mi estancia y comodidad, ojalá todos los huéspedes tengan la suerte de que este señor los atienda.

Playa con sargazo (no es culpa del hotel, sino de la naturaleza, inclusive el hotel intenta limpiar) No hay atención de AyB en la alberca.

Todo. Ubicación, distribución del hotel, limpieza, restaurante,...y el personal, todos ellos: Gilbert, Diana, Félix, Jesús, Marco, Ulises, Marx, Gustavo,...y me dejo a los demás, todos sin excepción. Hacen que todo sea posible con una sonrisa en el rostro.

El hotel no es muy grande lo que permite un trato personal y cercano. La ubicación es extraordinaria, realmente al lado del mar. Ambiente "Zen". Personal muy agradable y atento. Ideal tanto para familias como para parejas que buscan un lugar entrañable y romántico. Los amaneceres eran espectáculares. Hay restaurante en el mismo hotel (muy bueno) y también varios restaurantes muy bonitos relativamente cerca.

El personal es superior, lo sospechas cuando llegas y lo confirmas con creces durante toda la estadía. La atención es excelente, están en todos los detalles. Las instalaciones son muy buenas, la vista es excelente. Una crítica, todo está escrito en inglés, Tulum es parte de México, la lengua oficial de México es el castellano o si quieren el Español, lengua extremadamente rica, porque no la utilizamos?? Defendamos nuestra rica lengua y aceptemos que en segundo lugar, como lengua "internacional" este el ingles, pero el edpañol siempre debe estar presente en un país de gabla hispana.

Ya lo mencione dentro de las cosas que más me gustaron.
